Famous Tarter Style Pretzel Chicken

So many people have asked for it and finally I’m going to share with you just how to make this amazing dish right down to the “homemade” honey mustard.

Famous Tarter Style Pretzel Chicken

Famous Tarter Style Pretzel Chicken Ingredients:

  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
(These will be cut in half so a double pack will make about 4 servings depending on size of breast.)
  • Peanut Oil
  • A bag of Snyder Sourdough Pretzel Nuggets
  • 1/4 or more cup of All purpose Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 a cup of milk
  • A hard plastic cup

Prep:

  • Take chicken breast and cut them in half and trim fat from chicken breast.
  • Take a hard plastic cup (similar to a tervis tumbler) and pound the chicken so that is starts to flatten out some. (Careful to not break the membranes.)
  • Take the pretzel nuggets (about 1/2 a bag) and crush them up into small pieces. (Large pieces are harder to stick to chicken.)
  • Put 1/2 a cup of milk in a bowl and add one (1) egg. Whisp both together until blended.
  • Put oil into sause pan and turn on medium high heat (6-7).

Cooking:

  • Place chicken into the batter (milk and egg).
  • Then place chicken into pretzel crumbs. (Flour is to help pretzel crumbs stick. Use more than 1/4 cup if needed depending on the amount of crumbs you made.)
  • Place pretzel covered chicken into oil once ready.
  • Cook until chicken is cooked thoroughly.
  • Once chicken has cooked you can then cook as crispy as you desire.

Homemade Honey Mustard Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup of Pure Honey
  • 1 Cup of Mayo
  • 3/4 of Tablespoon of Mustard

NOTE: These ingredients will make enough dipping sause for about 7-10 people. You can cut back accordingly or have plenty of honey mustard for leftovers.

Directions:
Place honey, mayo, and mustard into mixing bowl and whisp together until blended well.

Taste a little off?

  • If you taste more honey just add more Mayo.
  • If you taste more Mayo add more Honey.
  • You shouldnt need more than 3/4 a tablespoon but in the even add small portions as mustard will change the taste very easily.
